If you’re looking to find out if Paparazzi Jewelry MLM is a scam, you’ve come to the right place.

I’ve done all the research and read dozens of reviews on this platform. In this comprehensive review, I’m going to share all of the pros, cons, and details on this business opportunity.

Let’s get started.

What is Paparazzi Jewelry MLM?

Paparazzi Accessories is an MLM company that was founded in 2010, and is headquartered in Utah. Their mission is to make fashionable jewelry accessories more affordable and available to women everywhere.

The founders of the company are Misty and Trent Kirby, and Chani and Ryan Reeve. The idea for the company originally started as the two sisters (Misty and Chani) started sharing their passion for accessorizing with other women. This later turned into a flourishing business that empowers women around the US.

How Does Paparazzi Work?

What makes Paparazzi unique, is that they sell affordable accessories at only $5 and their goal is to change how people feel in a trendy non-intimidating way. They also stand by their claims that their products are lead-free and nickel-free.

To purchase jewelry from the company, you will need to go through a consultant. Consultants are members of the MLM platform who sell the products.

Consultants purchase the products at wholesale prices and then sell them at retail, earning a profit. The primary ways that these distributors sell jewelry is through online parties, home parties, and talking to family and friends.

The products that they sell include:

  • Bracelets
  • Earrings
  • Rings
  • Necklaces
  • Hair accessories

How To Join Paparazzi

To get started with Paparazzi, you’ll simply need to visit the Paparazzi website.

When you join with the platform you become a consultant. There are 3 steps to joining:

  1. You’ll need to find a consultant to sponsor you or get back to the person who told you about the company. You can also search on the site for a consultant in your area based on your zip code.
  2. Pick a Starter Kit. There are 3 options to choose from. Those include the Preview Pack for $99 ($175 retail value), the Small Home Party Kit at $299 ($600 retail value), and the Large Home Party Kit, which costs $499 (1,000 retail value).
  3. Start the Party. Like traditional MLM opportunities, you promote the business through home parties where you invite family, friends, and prospects to hear more about your products.

You will also need to be at least 18 years old to join as a consultant and you must be a US resident.

You will also need to remain active with the company to earn commissions. The company requires that consultants order a minimum of 50 PV per month.

How to Make Money With Paparazzi Jewelry

To earn with this platform, you will need to sell products and earn commissions. When you sell products, which are all $5, you earn commissions between 35% – 45%.

So as you can imagine, at $5 and only 45% in commissions, you have to sell a ton of jewelry to make any real money.

The compensation plan with this MLM is very confusing to be honest. It will take a minute to figure it all out.

There are essentially 9 ways to earn with the company. Those are as follows:

1) Personal Volume

Personal volume or PV refers to the points that you accumulate for selling products with the company.

2) Retail Profit

With Paparazzi, you purchase your inventory at wholesale and then sell at retail. In the process you earn 35% – 45% commissions, while also earning retail income on the people you sponsored personally.

3) Show Rebate

This is commission that the company pays you on large shows of 1000 PV or more in one order.

4) Business Building Bonus

Earn 15% on all of the consultants that you sponsor personally, while active.

5) Unilevel Bonus

Earn commissions up to three levels deep when you progress up the ranks with the company and 5% – 10% of your organizations activity.

6) Generation Bonus

When you advance to Executive Director or above, earn additional bonuses with the company up to three generations deep.

7) Legacy Bonus

When you make it to the A-Lister rank or higher, you earn an extra 1% – 2% on volume generated up to three levels deep in your organization.

8) Infinity Bonus

When you get to the Luxe Jetsetter rank, you will get an extra .5% kicker bonus on all volume from your entire organization.

9) Cash Bonus

With Paparazzi, the cash bonuses are big. Real big. When you hit the Luxe Jetsetter rank you earn $25,000. At Impressionista you earn $50,000. And last, at the Iconic Impressionista rank you earn a whopping $100,000.

Just keep in mind that very few people make it to these ranks. You can check the income statement below.

Income Disclosure

Here’s the income disclosure put out by the company in their most recent statement for all of their ranks back in 2018. Paparazzi is pretty transparent about earnings and the majority of consultants make it to the Star Consultant and Director ranks.

Is Paparazzi Jewelry Legit?

The Paparazzi Accessories platform is a legit company, with a solid product line and not a scam. The biggest gripe with most people who question the company’s legitimacy is it’s MLM business model.

Better Business Bureau

At the time of this review, Paparazzi is not accredited with the BBB and has an F rating, which is poor. The majority of the reviews are from upset customers and center around complaints about the quality of the jewelry.

Revenue

The company has done fairly well in terms of revenue with solid year-over-year growth with the exception of last year. The company generated $150 million in revenue for both 2018 and 2019.

Pros and Cons of Paparazzi Jewelry

Pros

  • It’s inexpensive to start at $99 for the Preview Pack.
  • The company stands behind the quality of their products, which are nickel-free and lead-free, and affordable at $5.
  • You buy products at wholesale at a deep discount as a consultant.
  • The quality of the product has been questioned in numerous reviews.
  • The products seem to sell and people do like them.

Cons

  • You’re required to order product every month with a minimum of 50 PV, with no guarantees to resell.
  • The company has a complicated compensation plan.
  • The income statement states that most consultants earn an average of $23 per month in bonus.
  • At this time, the company is only available in the US and territories of the US.

Conclusion

Selling products and recruiting in MLM is tough. And selling $5 products with low commissions is even more challenging.

Paparazzi Jewelry was very transparent back in 2018 with their income statement, which basically said that consultants earn very little on average. Having said that, income is something you definitely need to consider when joining a business opportunity.

To be successful with Paparazzi, you need an advanced skill set and I’m not so sure the products meet an unmet need in the marketplace. I advise you to do your due diligence before starting, and be very careful with investing too much money and time without seeing a return.
