In this Norwex MLM review, I’m going to be answering the question, Is Norwex a Pyramid Scheme? These days, MLM opportunities have gotten a bad rap. And you have a bunch of companies that have received negative press for being a sham.

But in the case of Norwex is the bad rap accurate? Well, I’m going to take a deep dive with this opportunity and tell you what I was able to find behind the curtain. And hopefully, I can share some information that helps you make the right decision with this opportunity.

    OK, let’s jump in.

    What is Norwex?

Norwex is a multi-level marketing company that sells household and personal care products. The company was founded in Norway back in 1994. And Norwex has operations around the world in 14 markets, with over 90,000 independent consultants.

The company was founded by Bjørn Nicolaisen when he was introduced to a cloth that used microfiber technology to clean a dirty windshield, with only water. The company stands on its mission of “Cleaning without Chemicals” and their focal point is reducing the use of chemicals in the home.

    Norwex Products

The Nordex product line offers products with less chemicals that use enzymes instead of harsh chemicals for a powerful clean. Some of their top selling products are:

    • EnviroCloth ($18.99) – a microfiber cloth that has the BacLock antibacterial agent for cleaning.
    • Window Cloth ($19.99) – this cloth allows you to clean surfaces with only water. Surfaces such as windows, mirrors, shower doors, glass tables and many more.
    • Norwex Laundry Detergent ($24.99) – a highly concentrated powder detergent for laundry that is phosphate and filler-free.
    • Dusting Mitt ($20.99) – a mitt that allows you to dust without chemicals, wet or dry.
    • Superior Mop Starter System ($112.99) – a floor system to clean floors chemical-free.
    • Bathroom Cleaner ($29.99) – a concentrated formula for cleaning your bathroom, which contains biodegradable ingredients and is phosphate-free.

    How to Join Norwex

To become a consultant with Norwex, you’ll need to get back to the person who told you about the opportunity or visit the Norwex website to connect with a consultant.

    Norwex MLM

As a consultant you can participate in the company’s compensation plan, which uses a multi-level marketing platform. The company says it’s free to join and will send you $2,000 worth of product for your Starter Kit to get started.

You’ll only need to pay the cost of shipping and handling, which is $9.99. As a trade off, you’ll need to sell that inventory in 90-days or you’ll be charged $200 for the kit.

    The Norwex Compensation Plan

When you join the Norwex opportunity you will be able to grow a team by sponsoring new consultants into your downline. The company also offers a 35% discount to consultants on personal retail sales.

With this company there are a few ranks that you can climb and when you do you increase your earnings potential. Those ranks are as follows:

    • Sales Consultant
    • Team Coordinator
    • Sales Leader
    • Executive Sales Leader
    • Vice President Sales Leader
    • Senior Executive Sales Leader
    • Executive Vice President Sales Leader
    • Senior Vice President Sales Leader
    Norwex Compensation Plan

Here’s a Norwex Compensation Plan PDF that gives you an overview on how to earn with the company.

    Is Norwex a Pyramid Scheme?

This company is not a pyramid scheme. It’s an mlm opportunity and for that reason alone, you have people out there who would say this qualifies as a pyramid scheme. But that is false thinking.

Pyramid schemes focus on recruiting only and don’t have a product or lack a high quality product. This is not the case here. Norwex has some outstanding products that fulfill an unmet need in the marketplace.

As I mentioned, the company’s mission is to improve health and help people avoid ingesting harmful chemicals for a better environment. Like most companies listed on my top mlm rankings report, Norwex has a solid product with many happy product users who have no interest in building a business.

    Better Business Bureau

Currently Norwex is A+ rated with the Better Business Bureau and is not accredited at the time of this review. The customer reviews with the BBB were mostly positive.

    Revenues

According to Business for Home the company’s revenue numbers have been flat for the past 4 years. Here’s a quick snap shot.

    • 2018: $15 million
    • 2017: $15 million
    • 2016: $15 million
    • 2015: $15 million

    Pros and Cons of Norwex

    Pros

    • The company has been around for over 25 years.
    • A positive movement to create a more Eco-friendly planet and increase awareness around the dangers of plastic and chemicals in the environment.
    • Products come with a 100% satisfaction guarantee. Within 60-days of purchase you will be refunded if you’re not satisfied.
    • Low startup costs to get started with the company. For only the cost of shipping and handling ($9.99) you can receive a Starter Kit and supporting materials. If you can’t sell your inventory in 90-days you pay only $200.

    Cons

    • Promoting products for a greener planet is not a new concept and Norwex is in a very competitive market.
    • The company’s marketing platform is outdated and focuses on hosting parties to drive sales.
    • There are other Eco-friendly products at a lower price point on the market that are more easily accessible.

    Conclusion

There you have it. The Norwex MLM opportunity is a nutshell. As I mentioned, it is not a pyramid scheme and is a totally legit business.

Norwex has a positive mission and a solid product line, which could be the right opportunity for the right person. The major drawback for me is the lack of a solid marketing system. Parties are a thing of the past for promoting your business.

But if you tend to be more old school, and are passionate about their product line, give Norwex a try. Because in the end an advanced skillset can prevail with any opportunity.
