When it comes to mlm sponsoring… leads are not just King they’re Kong. If you can’t bring in leads like the big dogs and convert those leads into distributors or customers for your business it won’t be long before you’re heading for the proverbial mlm business exit.

So here I’m going to share with you 7 mlm sponsoring secrets that most newbie network marketers don’t know. In fact, most veterans may even fall short of implementing all of these secrets I’m about to share in their business.

7 Top MLM Sponsoring Secrets

If you want to build a long-term successful profitable mlm business you’ll want to put these secrets to good use. Not only will they help you transform your business. But they’re also mlm recruiting strategies that you’ll want to share with your downline and make the bedrock for growing your team…

1) Leave Family, Friends and Junk Leads Alone

If you’re still pestering family and friends, it’s not your fault. This is the way leaders in the network marketing industry have been pushing mlm companies on their downline for years.

It’s no wonder that 99% of network marketers fail and leave a trail of damaged relationships in their path. But to be successful these days… you can’t rely on this to grow a business.

Second, you can’t fall into the trap of buying junk leads to grow your business. Trust me, I’m not pointing fingers. In fact, I’m guilty of this myself. I can remember spending $500 on a small test only to get ripped off and not see a single lead.

What about co-ops? I’ve been suckered into this too. Let’s just say I haven’t had much success with relying on other people to get me leads.

The above is so true. Network marketing is no different. Especially if you want to be a leader in your company and in this industry…

Learn to generate your own leads and call your own shots.

2) Set an Advertising and Marketing Budget

I find it strange whenever I am speaking to a prospect and they say that they don’t have a budget for their business. In any business you need a budget.

I get it…

For some, you have more time than money. In those cases you’ll need to learn to master free ways to drive traffic to your websites and grow your business. Then when you start to make some money you’ll want to reinvest that into your business.

Even if it’s $5 per day to start. Try to get in the habit of doing this. Advertising is key.

3) Set Goals For Your Business

For some this might sound a little cheesy, but it’s very important. Even if you start small with a goal of earning let’s say $500 per month within your first 6 months. You have to set a goal and go after it.

Whenever you hear the people who are really successful you better believe there is some sort of goal setting element to their success.

4) Generate Your Own Leads

I already told you about the time I was taken to the cleaners trying to buy leads from shady sources. Today’s model of the most successful network marketers involves creating a website… Preferably a blog. And then generating leads from that blog.

Whatever you do, don’t rely on the company replicated site for generating leads. This is problematic for a number of reasons. But the two biggest reasons are:

  • most company websites have awful conversion rates (rate at which a page turns web traffic into leads) and…
  • the company replicated site does not brand YOU, it brands the company.

To generate leads you’ll need to create a lead magnet so that website visitors can opt-in to receive your free lead magnet. Once they do that they’ll be added to your email autoresponder.

An autoresponder lets you build a relationship with these folks and manages their email/contact information in one spot. You’ll also be able to build a following of people who know, like and trust you. People buy from people they know, like and trust.

As you connect with people who subscribe to your list, you’ll be able to find qualified people to join your business. Notice I said qualified. You’ll want to make sure you bring people into your business who aren’t tire kickers.

Ways to generate leads:

  1. Blogging
  2. Social media
  3. Paid Ads: Facebook
  4. Solo Ads
  5. Search Engine Marketing: Google, Pinterest (A search engine)

The above 5 methods for generating leads are some of my favorite ways. But there are many others.

One of the most common concerns that I hear is that some people are afraid to lose money on ads. I can definitely understand this… There is definitely a learning curve… and it takes time to become an expert at running ads to generate leads for your business.

One service that I highly recommend for generating leads is opt-intelligence. They take the guesswork out of running paid ads and can generate high quality leads for you on the cheap.

NOTE: Whenever you’re buying ads, always start with a small test and see if it makes sense to scale up based on your ROI (return on investment).

5) Drive a Tsunami of Traffic

If you want to grow your business, you need traffic. And lots of it. Point. Blank. Period.

Without traffic your website will collect cyber dust and you’ll earn zero dollars. Traffic is the lifeblood of your business. And the big dogs get tons of traffic.

From now on, you need to make traffic your priority. In all that you do, keep traffic top of mind. And quality traffic. You want traffic to your blog posts, clicking on your links and entering their name and email address in your web forms to subscribe to your list.

Newbie network marketers make the mistake of spending a fortune to have the prettiest website on the internet. Only to neglect the most important thing. Traffic.

You can have a bland website. But if you can bring in traffic to your site, you can make a living in network marketing. Here’s a little secret for you too… often times the fancy pants websites don’t convert. So don’t focus your time on getting to fancy.

Now don’t get me wrong… design does matter these days. But what I’m trying to stress here is that you focus on traffic and believe me it will pay off.

Initially, I recommend that you focus on one method of getting traffic and master it. Keep an eye on your stats. Get google analytics set up on your site. It’s free. And keep an eye on the number of subscribers to your email list.

6) Follow up With Your Prospects

You have to follow up with your prospects. The sale is rarely made on the first contact. The money is in the follow up.

Here’s a tweet that speaks to this point and reminds us of how important follow up is…

Be sure to keep prospecting scripts handy when you speak to a prospect. Don’t wing it. And follow up often via email with your subscribers. Don’t just email them about joining your opportunity. But try to share valuable content with your loyal email subscribers.

Always treat your prospects well. Treat them like the unique and talented individuals that they are. Regardless of whether or not they join your opportunity. This is the way we should treat all human beings in my opinion.

So give value to your subscribers. And follow up. Remember – there’s money in it.

7) Sell Home Business Tools to Your Prospects

I saved the best for last… But seriously. If you were to only do one thing (and I recommend you them all)… that I am sharing here and that’s sell tools to prospects, you’d be well on your way.

Even if you don’t have money right now for running ads… Imagine if you built a blog and drove traffic to your site through let’s say for free using Pinterest… If you monetized that traffic with affiliate products and business tools to help your subscribers and site visitors, you could turn around and reinvest that income back into your business.

This is the way the big dogs do it…

MLM legends like Mike Dillard and Ann Sieg created courses around this model. Many of the top earners understand the power of this. And they’re secretly making a killing in their businesses. Many of the top leaders have their own courses that they make a boatload of money from by selling to prospects who never join their business.

The power of this is that it helps you recoup your marketing and ad spend that you used to generate leads. Then you’ll want to reinvest money back into your business. This is how you create a machine that churns out leads, which you convert into distributors who join your team.

Conclusion

MLM sponsoring isn’t rocket science. But we don’t know, what we don’t know. Which is why I shared the secrets that the pros use to build huge organizations.

Follow these secrets and it won’t be long before you’re walking across the stage at your company meeting, being recognized for your outstanding achievements with the other leaders.

These 7 secrets are a formula for success for any network marketer. Setting an ad budget is key to generating leads. Without traffic you have no online presence.

And remember… the money is in the follow-up. You must keep in touch with your prospects. And it’s important to recoup your advertising dollars by sharing business tools that can help your subscribers.
