The company was soft launched in the November of 2014, in Birmingham, Alabama. It had around 1,000 pre-enrolled customers and the official launch took place on May, 2015.
The company grew quite rapidly and by 2016 the services were available in 9 states across 27 metropolitan areas in the US. Seeing its growth, the company received investment to the tune of $20 million from famous names.
This has helped with the company’s growth and as 2018, the revenue of the company is around $1 billion USD.

Working for Shipt as a Shopper
As a shopper you are allowed to put yourself in a shopping schedule. You are allowed to do it five days in advance.
When you put yourself in advance you will be eligible for shopping orders that come from your area.

Now–April 24, 2020–SCAM: Like donna and betty, I’ve had a seriously bad experience You’re out of groceries. You’re at high risk for COVID-19. Regular delivery services have no availability. You find Shipt–next day delivery. Looks good. Hah. So you take 30 min to choose your family’s groceries. So far so good. Then chec-out: membership REQUIRED!! $14/mo or $99/yr. Curse and choose month. Start payment: $99 membership charged. Choose “Revise membership.” No. Monthly option not allowed. So now you’ve paid $99 plus “service fee” for your groceries. (BTW: the website is forcing all caps tonight. so sorry!)
