The Beachbody MLM opportunity has been on an uptrend this year. According to google trends, it has seen a spike in interest in the company and business opportunity.
Some of it may have to do with the season. Fitness products and services tend to do better when the weather starts to heat up. But is this business opportunity right for you?
In this review, I’m going to give my honest opinion and share some facts and figures from my findings about this opportunity. The truth is, in my almost two decades of experience in this industry, I’ve been through my fair share of opportunities.
Some winners and some not so much… And in the end, it’s so important that you do your due diligence before wasting time and energy.
About Beachbody
Beachbody was founded in 1998 in Santa Monica, CA by Carl Daikeler and Jon Congdon. One of their first products was the P90X. This was very popular when it first came out.
The P90X system combines cross training with nutrition, and a supplement program. I actually looked at this system since I consider myself to be a life long athlete and wanted to see if it brought anything new to the table. I did find their methods to be effective.

The Beachbody Compensation Plan
As I always do when I take a look at an opportunity, let’s take a deep dive into the comp plan. With so many mlm companies out there, the biggest question to ask yourself is, how do I get paid?
Some companies make is simple, while others make you feel like you have to do trigonometry just to figure it all out.
Here’s a brief presentation that shares the compensation plan and commission structure for a Beachbody Coach:
The Beachbody MLM Opportunity Explained
When you join Beachbody, you’ll sign up and begin using their products and services. The idea is that you’ll get great results and then share with others. The business model for this company falls under the multi-level marketing model where you are compensated for the efforts of others who you share this opportunity with.
The Drawbacks
The major drawback with any mlm is that there is a cycle where you’re encouraged to get more people involved and invest more of your own money into the business with the idea of growing your business and climbing up the ranks.
The only challenge is that most people aren’t savvy marketers and they rely on people in their social circle who also aren’t savvy marketers.
This can present a big problem because when you’re spending money to grow a business and sharing the opportunity with others to grow your business with the hopes that you will land a rock star… this often backfires.
Hoping that your outgoing cousin John is going to “go crazy” in your business rarely ever happens.
How To Grow Your Beachbody Business
If you want to successfully promote any mlm you’ll need to gain happy product users and if they choose to share their results then so be it. If not, let them be happy product users. But you’ll soon realize that you need a ton of happy customers.
The products are solid with Beachbody. The only issue is that with most mlms the products are usually priced way higher than the competition and aren’t always uniquely differentiated in the marketplace.
If you want to excel with this opportunity and you want to grow your business, you’re better off looking for people who WANT to be in an mlm opportunity and maybe health and nutrition is their passion. When you marry the two, you’re light years ahead of where you’d be chasing family, friends, coworkers and so on.
Conclusion
Is Beachbody right for you? Only you can decide that. If you’re passionate about fitness and want a business centered around that this could work for you.
You’ll need a surefire way to market your business other than hounding family and friends. Also, it might be easier to go after the business side of this opportunity because Shakeology is fiercely competitive market…
Someone can go down to GNC, The Vitamin Shoppe or any health food store and pick up a cheaper meal replacement or protein shake. The thing that makes Beachbody “go” is all the other resources that a customer can plug in to. But it can be hard to compete on price.
MLMers are a rare breed. We get what passive income is all about. But as for the vast majority, they confuse passive income with pyramid scheme. So build your business with people who “get it” and you’ll do yourself a world of good. AND learn how to market your business online to the right people.
I’ll leave you with this review from a person who tried the Shakeology product line and what she had to say about it…
