In this Wealthy Affiliate vs Clickbank University review, I’m going to give you a head-to-head comparison of these two popular internet marketing training platforms. I think I bring a unique perspective here because I’m a member of both platforms.

But aside from that, I’ve been marketing online for many years now. So I’ve seen a ton of marketing courses and platforms during that time. Let’s take a look at these programs and see how they stack up against each other.

Wealthy Affiliate

I came across Wealthy Affiliate many moons ago. The funny thing is, I’ve been sold this program so much by other marketers that I actually signed up twice without even realizing it. I talk more in depth about the program in my detailed Wealthy Affiliate review.

But in this head-to-head review, it’s more about what you are looking to learn. Because really they both teach two different methods.

1) Community

The thing I like most about Wealthy Affiliate is that it is not just a training platform, but a community. Their community of like-minded marketers really work to help each other.

And the founders Kyle and Carson are some classy dudes. They are active in the platform and help out members. They are actually involved and you can interact with them.

When looking at Wealthy Affiliate vs Clickbank University, this is where I feel Wealthy Affiliate shines. Clickbank University doesn’t seem to be as tight knit as a community.

2) No Endless Upsells

Another thing I liked about the Wealthy Affiliate platform is that they aren’t as aggressive with the upsells. With Clickbank University it feels like they’re hitting your email inbox a little too often with pitches for webinars to sign up for the next “great thing”.

With Wealthy Affiliate you wont have to deal with that as much. The only thing they push on you is their Premium membership. With this membership it unlocks the bulk of their trainings.

3) Free Traffic

The other key takeaway with Wealthy Affiliate is that they are more geared towards creating a niche blog and driving organic trafffic. This is free traffic from the search engines.

They teach you how to rank on Google for keywords that aren’t as competitive, but have a solid amount of search volume.

Clickbank University teaches more of an affiliate marketing model where you’ll be utilizing paid traffic such as Facebook ads.

4) Reliance on Google

With organic traffic, you’re at the mercy of Google. Trust me I know all about this. I have a blog in the medical industry that was hit hard by the Google Medic update last year. I watched my traffic dry up over night.

With this model you have to put in a lot of sweat equity up front with creating content. And your blog might not see traffic for months or even years. You’ll need to be prolific if you want to be successful.

5) Challenges of New Blogs

Not to mention, if you start a new blog from scratch don’t expect to see any traffic at all for at least a few months.

The best way to go with this one is to buy an expired domain with high domain authority. This can speed up the process. But trust me, that isn’t easy to do because every SEOs out there is trynna find these domains.

Clickbank University

Clickbank University (CBU) is a solid platform for those looking to make affiliate sales and even create their own product some day. This is an advanced skillset and can get you in the money quicker than Wealthy Affiliate’s model.

You can also check out my Clickbank University review to get more info on this platform.

6) Clickbank Platform

First, the good thing about CBU is they leverage their marketplace, which is one of the largest affiliate marketplaces in the world. They teach you how to sell digital products and make big commissions.

They don’t just teach it. The founders are also top affiliate marketers. Plus, you get to leverage some of the results from their braintrust. Those super affiliates and product publishers who make big money with their platform.

7) Faster Profits

This model has it’s pluses and minuses. But the biggest plus is that you can be earning money pretty quickly, if you are willing to start with paid traffic. And you can scale up after breaking even or in some cases losing money while building an email list.

This can be tricky though. You have some marketers making tens of thousands in revenue, but are also spending a fortune on advertising. So their net profits are slim.

8) Paid Traffic is Risky

While they say that this training is newbie friendly. Expect to lose money before you really start ramping up with this training. And be careful not to lose your shirt.

9) Publishing Products

One last thing with this training is they teach you how to publish your own information products. This also has its pluses and minuses.

For one, you can build the best course in the world, but if no one sees it (no traffic), it will sit on the internet collecting cyber dust. On top of that, if it doesn’t convert (turn visitors into customers) when you do get traffic it can be a huge waste of time.

Then you have to deal with refunds. And what if you create a product that no one wants to buy?

For this reason, I think Clickbank University isn’t for everyone and Wealthy Affiliate is the more of the newbie friendly platform.

But I do find the Clickbank University platform to be more lucrative. If you can master paid traffic, the internet world is truly your oyster.

10) More Predictable

Paid traffic is more predictable and you’re not as reliant on getting love from Google in order to get traffic. Time is money and most of us don’t have time to put energy into a project without knowing what’s gonna happen.

With the Clickbank University model, if you can master it, you have more control and earning potential. Having your own product, email list, and control of the traffic flow puts the ball in your court.

Conclusion

In this Wealthy Affiliate vs Clickbank University comparison, I tried to share some of the key differences that I noticed with these programs. But if you’re new to the internet marketing world, it might not be a bad idea to try both.

These programs are both priced the same, and they are really very different. Plus, there is a steep learning curve with online marketing. They’re not teaching this stuff in college.

If they did, that info would probably be obsolete by the time you graduated as internet technology moves so fast.

In my opinion, if you want to build a successful blog that you can monetize, and drive traffic for free I’d go with Wealthy Affiliate. If you’re looking to build a successful affiliate marketing business and eventually promote your own products, then Clickbank University is probably your platform.
